A myriad of colours and flowers create truly colourful kolams at the malls precincts
Pavilion KL, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, today launched Divine Diwali – a joyous
event to kickstart its celebration of the Festival of Lights, supported by the Indian High
Commission. Inspired by flower shows and garden festivals around the world, the mall
presents 9 beautiful kolams, lavishly decorated with colourful florals, strategically placed at
various precincts of the mall, to bring shoppers a divine celebration of beauty, luck and unity
through surprising and engaging experiences. The main showcase of Divine Diwali is at the
Pavilion Crystal Fountain – featuring the “Biggest Illuminated Flower Fabric Kolam” awarded
by the Malaysia Book of Records.
From now until 31 October 2019, Divine Diwali, welcomes
all to enjoy the Deepavali festivities, showcasing not only
colourful, vivid decorations, but also vibrant dance
performances, irresistible shopping rewards and exciting
experiences in the month-long celebration of Deepavali. To
add to the vibrant ambience, from 1 – 6 October, drop by the
Divine Diwali Bazaar for traditional Indian clothes, desserts
& snacks, home art and décor, located at Main Entrance,
Level 3 to coincide with Diwali Launch. From 7 – 31 October,

Feast your eyes on unique festive decor at Intermark Mall where ‘Artistry of Diwali’ features a
spectacular kolam. Embracing festive Deepavali spirit, International Cofffee Month of October and a
message of sustainability, the mall’s unique kolam enters the Malaysia Book of Records for ‘Biggest
Peacock Replica Kolam Made Of Coffee Grounds’. The centrepiece features a beautiful sculpted peacock made entirely from repurposed materials,
including used coffee grounds and coffee bags. Collaborating with UiTM Faculty of Art & Design and
Coffee2Fuels, an enterprise dedicated to reimagining waste, Intermark Mall’s kolam and peacock took
9 weeks to complete by 59 committed students. The process involved bleaching and dyeing the coffee grounds, as well as sorting, painting and stitching used coffee bags together with recycled gunny sacks
to create the bird’s magnificent feathered tail. In its Deepavali celebrations last year, Intermark Mall’s
festive décor featured a kolam made entirely from recycled fabric. ‘Artistry of and an illuminating Decorative Fair by Blue Eyes From 23 Sept to 27 Oct 2019, catch festive performances by the talented students of Taylor’s
International School Kuala Lumpur, as well as special workshops on henna art, saree styling

Plenty of festive fun awaits at Da Men Mall from 13 October – 3 November, with ‘Art At Heart’ featuring a Kiddos Carnival from 22 Oct – 4 November and a Little Kurta & Little Saree Competition on 2 November for kids aged 5 to 15 with amazing cash voucher prizes to be won. Da Men Junior Workshops are engaging and educational, held every Sunday this school holidays for kids aged 5 to 12 to create their own colour mastic clay kolams, beaded flower pots and festive light décor. Shoppers may redeem cute elephant plushies and vouchers with RM80 spend in a single receipt mall wide.
