The Bahrain Embassy in Malaysia celebrates National Day and with an array of cultural events and music  Bahrain’s historical remark Bahrain and Malaysia its establishment diplomatic ties between two countries 

Kuala Lumpur, 20th December 2019: The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Malaysia a reception on the occasion of the kingdom of Bahrain's national celebrations on 16 December, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahrain.During the celebration at the JW Marriott in kuala Lumpur Malaysia, the Charge' d' Affaires a.i Miss Maram Anwar J Al Saleh.  with Guest honour YB Puan Teresa Kok. Minister of Primary Industries representing Malaysian government  and Embassy diplomats were honored to be joined by an esteemed crowd of friends, business leaders, foreign diplomats, and key politicians to celebrate the country's heritage.  attendees were treated to a slide show of Bahrain's landmarks and traditional food from bahrain's heritage.

from 1872 , persian gulf principalities such as bahrain had treaties of protection with the british Empire. the rulers of those principalities couldn’t dispose of their territory except to the british and that there would be no international relationships unless with british consent. in return bahrain got protection from all eventual sea attacks. eventually bahrain became a british protectorate and entered the british commonwealth of nations. when huge oil reserves were found in bahrain, the british strengthened their hold on bahrain, and the period after world war ii saw great discontent against the british throughout the arab world. in 1970, iran laid claim to bahrain, but a later agreement with the british prevented iran from following up on the claim. on december 15, 1971, the british had to leave the country after several riots and confrontations. bahrain became independent from the british on december 16, 1971. since then, december 16 has been celebrated as national day. The island nation of Bahrain is nestled between Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the Persian Gulf. This sovereign nation’s name is derived from the Arabic al-bahrayn, which loosely translates to “two seas,” a reference to the country's surrounding coastal seabed where freshwater springs rise up from the depths to meet the briny ocean water. December 16 in Bahrain is National Day, not only celebrating the independence achieved from the British in 1971, but also an expression of gratitude from the people to the king for the reforms introduced in 2000 that led Bahrain to democracy and stability. Once the capital of the ancient Dilmun civilization, this small island nation has a rich heritage that stretches back to the third millennium BCE. Commonly referred to as the “Pearl of the Gulf,” Bahrain commemorates over 6,000 years of history.
