YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, Prime Minister, witnessed by YB Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, Minister of Agriculture & Agro-based Industry (MOA) and Khadijah Iskandar, Covering Duties President / Chief Executive Officer of Agrobank. According to Khadijah Iskandar, the launch of Agrobank's new vision and mission is timely as itdepicts the Bank’s readiness to grow in providing holistic financial solutions and services beyond banking to various segment of agriculture community. This is in line with the aspiration to ensure the nation food security by providing more opportunities for agropreneurs to expand their businesses. "With the vision on ‘advancing agriculture beyond banking and with the mission on ‘elevating the standards of agriculture and providing sustained supports that create values to communities, economy, environment and stakeholders’, Agrobank aims to provide solutions beyond banking in the areas of advisory services, takaful protection, investment initiatives and many more," Khadijah said. “Through this vision and mission, we are committed to provide comprehensives banking solutions and services that create positive impact to our community, economy, environment and stakeholders, in line with value based intermediation (VBI) initiatives by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM),” Khadijah added.
Suiting with the aspiration of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 to reduce gap between the urban and rural households, agriculture is seen as one of the key initiatives to improve the standard of living for its communities and at the same time, strengthen the nation’s economy. Therefore, Agrobank will continue to support the government’s efforts towards Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 in achieving its objectives. The celebration was also attended by YB Tuan Sim Tze Tzin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry along with over 400 guests from various ministries, agencies, stakeholders, strategic partners and customers of Agrobank.
