Celebrated Kenya’s Independence
Day on Thursday,14 December 2019, at Kuala Lumpur : Kenya Independence
Day and Kenya Jamhuri Day, are one of the most important Celebration in Kenya, observed with patriotic fervor and
enthusiasm on December 12. The occasion commemorates Kenya’s 1963 independence
(colonial freedom) from Great Britain and Kenya’s 1964 induction into the
Commonwealth as a republic.The Jamhuri Day
celebrations in Kenya reflect the joy Kenyans have in their country’s freedom
and independence from British colonial rule. They also reflect the unique and
colorful culture of Kenya as a whole Led
by H.E. Francis Ndegwa Muhoro hosted the 56th Anniversary Celebration of Kenya’s
Independence on 12th Dec. 2019 at the JW Marriott Hotel. Welcoming by Members Staff
High commission Kenya in Malaysia. over 300 invited guests. The Guest of Honour
was YB Puan Teo Nie Ching Deputy Minister of Education Malaysia. The Toast to
the Celebration and Speech was delivered H.E. Francis Ndegwa Muhoro.
The occasion was attended by members
of the Diplomatic Corps, invited special guests including political
leader, community leaders, Industries Leader, Kenya student and Kenyans in Malaysia. A wonderful
opportunity to taste Kenyan foods and a line up of activities.
Malaysia and
Kenya established diplomatic ties in 1965. In 1997, Nairobi set up its High
Commission in Kuala Lumpur, and Kuala Lumpur reciprocated by opening up a High
Commission in Nairobi in Sept 2005. Malaysia
and Kenya share a common commitment to regional peace and stability in East
Africa.Kenya’s
campaign’s bid for a Non-Permanent Seat at the U.N. Security Council for the
period 2021-2022. Kenya progress that commitment to Africa’s positions
and fulfillment 0f the international level, Kenya has been
endorsed overwhelmingly as African Union’s candidate for the non-permanent
seat of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the period
2021-2022. Kenya is ready to serve and full commitment to pursue
prosperity and advancement of humanity
